Mine fields are extensively used by the defence forces of all the countries. It provides a defensive and offensive arsenal. These mine fields are mechanically or manually laid in the ground and provide a deterrent to the movement of enemy's manpower and equipment. These mine field are laid in a predefined pattern which ensures movement of own manpower and machinery of war. These defined patterns also ensure safe retrieval of the mines once the said purpose for which they were laid is over. Retrieval of mines is a major task and is solely dependent on the skill of the specialised men. Any unwanted scenario may result in loss of life. Wireless sensor networks (WSN) are rapidly finding extensive use for defence forces in hostile environmental conditions. Durability and reliability factor of these motes are improving with further researches. RFID is extensively used in our day to day life. Research community have successfully integrated RFID with WSN. Even the development of electronic mines has been found to be more successful then mechanical mines. Since the mine fields laid, especially in the desert region, has a nature of shifting locations, safe retrieval of the same becomes a tremendous challenge. In this paper we try to integrate the WSN, RFID and Electronic Mines to develop a mechanism for safe retrieval of the anti-personnel mines.
